Out of My Element
German Fact of the Day #17
In California, when speaking of the freeway by name, you use the definate article "The" to precede it.
Example: You wanna take The 10 or The 210 into LA.
When discussing fast food restaurants the definate article is dropped and an indefinate article is NOT substituted*.
Example: We can either go to Del Taco or In & Out Burger.
*The exception to this rule is when talking about a specific restuarant's location.
Examples: He lives in North Hollywood on Radford, near The In & Out Burger.
The In & Out Burger is on Camrose.
Near The In & Out Burger.
Those are good burgers, Walter.
Shut the fuck up, Donny!
